  • Pastor joe fort

    Senior Pastor


    The Reverend Joe Fort, Jr. serves as the Senior Pastor at Lakewood United Methodist Church. He is a fourth generation United Methodist pastor, and is a graduate of Lamar University and Perkins School of Theology, SMU. The Reverend Fort served for six years as the Superintendent of the West District of the Texas Annual Conference, residing in College Station. Prior to this ministry he served as senior minister of the Kingwood United Methodist Church for twelve years. Reverend Fort has also held pastorates in League City, Crockett, and was the founding pastor of the Mauriceville UMC in Southeast Texas. He has been married to his wife Margaret for over thirty years. They have four children: Joe III, Ben, David, and Leslie. The younger three are married. Their spouses are Bethany, Connie, and Neal Ellis, respectively.


    Associate Pastor

    The Reverend Daniel Childs joined our staff in July of 2015. The Reverend Daniel Childs has served for the past year at St. Luke's UMC in Houston, giving oversight to young adults and small groups. He will be commissioned as a provisional elder at the Texas Annual Conference this May. Daniel and his wife, Kirsten, moved to Houston last year from North Carolina, where they both grew up. Daniel is a graduate of North Carolina State University and Duke Divinity School. He is passionate about worship, forming Christian disciples, and building up the church as the embodiment of the gospel.


    Associate Pastor

    Lakewood United Methodist Church is pleased to welcome the Reverend Pam Cline as the newest associate pastor to be appointed to our staff. Rev. Cline most recently served at the Lake Palestine United Methodist Church near Tyler. For almost ten years previously she served as associate pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Katy. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida, having a degree in business administration. She also studied at the South Texas College of Law and completed her ministerial training through Duke University and Southern Methodist University.

    Pam brings significant background and experience in caring ministries, including Stephen Ministry, and grief and adult respite concerns. She has coordinated outreach ministries to the homebound, and has also been involved with welcoming and connecting ministries.

  • Pastor Trish woodruff

    Associate Pastor

    The Reverend Trish Woodruff joined Lakewood UMC in July of 2015 after serving for two years as an Associate Pastor at Cornerstone UMC in Houston, where she has served in discipleship, missions, care ministries, and stewardship. Trish is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky with a Masters of Divinity, and Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Business Administration.
