    Facility Coordinator

    Please welcome Amy Amodio, our new Facilities Coordinator. Amy will be working closely with trustees and staff as she manages the Lakewood campus. Amy is a native of the Cypress area. She graduated from Texas Tech University and then moved to New York City, Memphis, TN, and Dallas, TX. She is married to Stephen, and together they have two children, Natalie who is 15 and a freshman at Cy-Fair HS, Nathan who is almost 13 and in 7th grade at Hamilton Middle School and two dogs, Harvey and Stella. 

  • Todd Burrer is the Director of Instrumental Music at Lakewood UMC. Todd is a native Houstonian and Graduate of TCU. He is also a former band director as well as a trombone and euphonium player. If anyone would like to be a part of the Chamber Ensemble, please contact Todd at tburrer@mac.com

    We want to welcome Misty Celli to LUMC staff as our Church Receptionist! Misty joins Lakewood UMC with several years of sales, marketing, and office manager experience. Misty and her husband, along with their two children, have been active in the church for over 4 years.

  • Betty and her husband, Tommy, have been members of Lakewood UMC since 1979. Betty has been a dedicated staff member for over 25 years, serving as Youth Director as well as her current position as Community Life and Neighborhood Ministries Coordinator. She loves to help plan events for the students and teachers at Matzke Elementary (a CFISD elementary school we partner with) and mentor a fifth grade student there. Betty manages the LakeWorld Fair Trade Store inside of our church, and loves to promote the purchase of Fair Trade items when possible. She also enjoys serving the homeless and planning church wide events. She and Tommy have two children, Jason & Jeni, as well as twin grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler. They will be blessed with a new grandson, Jaxson Gregory in March.

    Mistye joined our staff in 2017 and brings several years of experience in sales and marketing, along with being a previous preschool teacher. She graduated from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Psychology. Mistye and her husband, Rod, have 2 children in high school who are active in Student Ministries.

  • Greg Gathright is a native of Harlingen, Texas. Greg has been a lifelong Methodist, even when serving churches in other denominations. After graduating from Sam Houston State University in 1976, Greg was the Huntsville High School Choir director for two years before moving to Windham School district, where he served for 24 years as a band director, supervisor, and principal. He served as a bivocational music director at First Christian Church of Huntsville for 20 years, then at Elkins Lake Baptist as organist and handbell director. Greg then moved to the Woodlands United Methodist Church as an associate director before coming to Lakewood UMC. Greg is married to Dani, and they have three grown sons, and four grandchildren.

  • Jennifer Gros serves as our Director of Communications, responsible for the internal and external communication for Lakewood UMC. This includes promoting our ministries and programs, advertising, public relations, printed media, website, social media and more. She graduated from the University of Louisiana with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Jennifer brings to Lakewood UMC over 20 years of experience in the marketing, advertising and communications industry. She is married to Scott, and they have three children involved in Student Ministries.

    Nursery Coordinator

    Jill serves on the Lakewood UMC staff as Nursery Coordinator. She was raised in the Methodist Church, and she and her family have been members at LUMC since 2011. Jill is a native Houstonian and graduated from the University of Houston at Clear Lake with a bachelors in Education. Jill has experience teaching children from the ages of 2 to 5th Grade. She currently teaches the Young 2’s at Lakewood Little People. Jill and her husband, Steve, have three boys, Matt, Ian and Jon. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and attending sporting events for her children.

  • Erik Henson serves as the Director of Contemporary Arts and Media at Lakewood UMC. Erik is a graduate of the University of Houston, and has also completed studies in Jazz at the University of North Texas in Denton. He is married to Patty Henson, who is also on staff at Lakewood UMC, and they have 4 young boys who are very active in our children's and youth programs

    Patty Henson serves as Coordinator of Worship and Discipleship. Patty grew up in Klein, Texas. She met her husband, Erik, in the Klein High School Orchestra, and they continue to use their musicianship as part of their ministry. Together they are raising their 4 boys, and love getting to serve at Lakewood UMC. Patty taught in Klein, Cy-Fair, and at Rosehill Christian school. She then spent some time at home raising little ones before finding her way to the Coordinator of Worship and Discipleship position here at Lakewood. 

  • PEggy Launikitis

    Assistant Director of children's ministries

    Peggy Launikitis serves as Assistant Director of Children Ministries. She joined our staff in 2011, after having volunteered in this ministry for 7 years. She helped to establish & operate summer camps here at LUMC, teaching 4 year old Sunday School, and helping with VBS. After volunteering for 2 years in the UPWARD Basketball program, she became the League Director for our church in 2012. When not serving at church, she enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of animals, and gardening.

  • Amy joined our staff in 2014. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Houston. She is the wife of Steven and mom of four amazing, beautiful daughters. She has been an active volunteer with the youth since her oldest started attending the program in 2007. She focuses mainly on our incoming 6th graders in the fall and heads up our Confirmation class in the spring. She's a huge fan of reading, reality tv, 90s hip hop and road trips. She's also may be just a teeny tiny bit obsessed with football.


  • Kris Ramos

    Kris Ramos is the Director of Lakewood Little People, the Child Development Program of LUMC. Kris was a classroom teacher for 7 years in the Aldine and Cy-Fair school districts before becoming a school administrator in 2001. She joined the staff at Lakewood Little People as a teacher in 2007 and has served as the assistant director in recent years. She has a B.S. from Indiana State University and a M.Ed. from Sam Houston State. Kris and her husband Mike are active members at Lakewood UMC and are the parents to two teenage girls.

    Children's Choir Coordinator

    Susan serves Lakewood as a seasoned elementary, special education, music and outdoor science educator, working in both private and public schools in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Illinois and Texas. Her students have performed in a variety of venues ranging from grade school musicals to community concerts, from choral festivals to Lakewood's own Music Arts & Drama Camp every July. Susan serves as a group leader in Bible Study Fellowship's NW Houston chapter, volunteers in Lakewood's Gathering Place, and instructs beginning adult ESL through another local ministry. She and her talented accompanist husband, Steven, participate in the Chancel Choir and Chamber Ensemble. They have two adult children and one precious grandson.


    Clay and his wife moved after almost 8 years at University UMC in San Antonio so he could join the staff at Lakewood UMC in March of 2018. Clay has 12 years of experience in student ministry and is a graduate of Texas State University and has a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary. Clay has been commissioned as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church and will be ordained in 2020. Clay serves as our Director of Student Ministries. He is passionate about student ministry and helping adolescents and their families to become disciples of Jesus and grow in holiness so that they can change the world!

    Mary Beth Trahan serves on the Lakewood UMC staff as Communications Assistant and brings over 15 years of communication, sales, print and graphic design experience. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Mary Beth is a member of LUMC, she is married to John, and they have three children and 2 pets.

    Judy has been organist/pianist at Lakewood since 2002. Prior to Lakewood, she was church organist/pianist for Cypress UMC and Park Place Baptist. Judy has a Bachelors Degree from Carson Newman University in Church Music. She has additional studies in Music Therapy. Judy works as a Houston realtor and property manager. She breeds and shows dogs. She has three children and two grandchildren.  

  • Krista Wall serves LUMC as our Coordinator of Finance and Business. She brings over 25 years of experience in finance and business to Lakewood. She graduated from Baylor University with a major in Finance and minor in Accounting. She and her husband, Chris, grew up in Northwest Houston and have been blessed with 4 boys, Cody, Jamie, Ryan and Timothy. Krista enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis and golf and watching her boy’s sporting events.

  • Nicholas Willard, our Production Assistant to the Director of Contemporary Arts and Media, assists in coordination of the New Song service. He is also the coordinator of the visual aspect of our audio/visual team and works to integrate relevant digital elements into our Sunday morning services.

  • Mingo is currently serving in her ninth year as Director of Children’s Ministry. Before coming on staff, she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher with our children. She is a certified (K-6) elementary school teacher, and has a second certification in Chapter 1/Title1 Reading. After leaving the public school system, Mingo spent years conducting teacher trainings and educational in-services throughout the country. Her goal in Children’s Ministry is to help each child begin to develop a personal relationship with God. This relationship begins with a strong foundation and knowledge of scripture. She has developed and implemented educational goals and a scope and sequence into the Children’s Ministry to ensure our children grow in their faith. When not working with our children, Mingo enjoys time with her family, husband Robert and son John Robert.
