    Serendipity, our over-50 ministry, is taking a day trip on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, to A Unique Ranch in New Waverly. Enjoy the gypsy horses, lunch, and a visit to the oldest continuous-use UMC in Coldspring, TX. The bus leaves at 8:30 am and returns at 4:30 pm; cost is $20 + lunch.     Three Simple Rules for Christian Living is a six session small-group study based on Rueben P. Job's book about John Wesley's General Rules that will provide extended reflection for adults on three principles of Christian life: do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.

    MEAD SUNDAY SCHOOL

    The Mead Sunday School class will be beginning their year-long study, The Grand

    Sweep, in May. This study moves through the Bible in biblical sequence, with Psalms

    and Proverbs read throughout. Mead meets at 10:50 am every Sunday in Founders

    Court. All senior adults are invited to join.

    A Lakewood UMC team is preparing for a mission trip to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA, November 5-11, 2017.     KAIROS OUTSIDE HOUSTON MID-YEAR REUNION , JULY 15

    Former guests of any KOH weekend and their families are invited to attend, as well as anyone interested in serving with KOH. Kairos Outside Houston is a program of the Kairos Prison Ministry serving the female family members of incarcerated men. Please contact Cindi Michalak for more information at 281-773-0459.


    A team from Lakewood will be traveling to beautiful Costa Rica to support the small Methodist church in Nicoya on June 10 - 18. The team activities with the members of that church will include fellowship, worship, playing, praying, Bible School for children, construction work, etc. To learn more; contact Jack Aulick at zjwa02@comcast.net to sign up or for more details.


    Lakewood will be sending a mission team to Kenya from July 6 - 19, 2017. The team activities will include a week supporting Maua Methodist Hospital, a couple of days supporting another Methodist project in Kenya, and a couple of days on safari.
