Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to build safe, decent, affordable housing for families in need. We would love to have you join us on our construction site! Minimum work age is 16, with an accompanying parent. Contact Stephenie Huffman at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Download forms here.
**Please keep in mind 16 is the minimum age to volunteer, and youth (anyone under 18) need to be accompanied by an adult the entire time they are volunteering- a parent must sign the waiver on the youth’s behalf. All youth need to be accompanied by adults at 1 adult to 5 youth ratio.
I have included a link to the HFH waiver, if you have not completed this in the last 12 months please do so prior to our workday. https://www.habitatnwhc.org/ways-to-help/volunteer-waiver.html
It is imperative that all volunteers arrive at the build site no later than 8:00 AM to attend our safety orientation and receive work assignments. We do build in the rain, cold, and heat, so please dress appropriately. If you have a refillable water bottle, please bring it with you, as we will provide water and Gatorade throughout the day. Don’t forget to call the Volunteer Help Line @ 281-653-8988 to check for weather cancellations prior to coming out to the build site.
NEWS: Recently, Habitat NWHC (our affiliate) was named in the Houston Chronicle as one of the top 10 charities in Houston for total percentage spent on programs and services based upon information gathered by Charity Navigator . We are very pleased to advise that 93.6% of every dollar donated to Habitat Northwest goes directly to the mission of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for those in need. Lakewood UMC is very proud of knowing that the funds we provide to Habitat NWHC is being well managed and directed. May God continue to bless this ministry!

For more information, contact Nancy at email@example.com or visit the website at www.daysforgirls.org.
