This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the day we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This marked the beginning of Jesus’ last week.

The Spring Fling will be on Saturday, March 24, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. This is a fun time, filled with lots of activities! We will have bounce houses, face painting, a rock wall, and more! There will also be a silent auction benefiting Lakewood Little People Preschool. Lakewood Men’s Group will be selling concessions, so come hungry!
SAY YES TO THE DRESS
It's that time of year again. Say Yes to the Dress will be Sunday April 15th from 1:00-4:00 pm in the Loft. Dresses will be made in assembly lines then sent with Lakewood mission teams over the summer to little girls in need. You DO NOT have to know how to sew, there are plenty of other jobs available. Girls 5 years old and up are invited to attend, with an adult, so that they can be our dress designers. We are offering “The Way” on Wednesdays during Lent — a group of studies on Wednesday nights for children through adults. There will be a dinner served in the kitchen at 6:15 pm where everyone can gather to eat before going to their particular study at 7:00 pm.

Disaster Recovery Mission to Puerto Rico:
Lakewood will be sending a mission team to Puerto Rico to support the hurricane recovery efforts being directed by the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico (MCPR). The MCPR hurricane recovery efforts are being supported by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and the United Methodist Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM) organizations. The team will travel over the dates of June 9-16, 2018. There will be an informational meeting regarding this mission at Noon on Sunday, April 8th. SAGER BROWN MISSION TRIP
A team from Lakewood UMC recently returned from UMCOR’s Sager Brown facility in Baldwin La. in February. The entire team was greatly blessed by their time there. They worked in the depot, helped with facility maintenance, and participated in local outreach organized by Sager Brown staff.

March 30 – Good Friday; a tenenbrae commemorating the suffering and death of Christ. 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. There will be a special Prayer Vigil in All Saints Garden from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, as we prepare our hearts for the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
