Middle school mission 2019

WHO: Students who have completed any grade 6-8 during the 2018-19 school year

WHAT: Serving with Blueprint Ministries  to help make homes safe, dry, and warm in the name of Jesus.

WHEN: June 16-21, 2019

WHERE: San Antonio, TX

Summer 2019 will see our middle schoolers travel to San Antonio, TX to partner with Blueprint Ministries, a ministry born out of the United Methodist Church that works to make homes safe, warm, and dry in the inner city for those that cannot afford to do so themselves. Blueprint exists to

  • Be a part of the urban San Antonio community by sharing Christ's extravagant love, hope, and grace
  • Serve the elderly, physically disabled, and low income homeowners of San Antonio by rebuilding, renovating, and improving sub-standard housing
  • Provide servant leadership opportunities for student and adult volunteers as they rebuild homes

See this testimonial Video of how Blueprint has changed one man's life.

Blueprint maintains relationship with their clients year around and depends on groups like us to partner with them to help in their mission. We'll be serving with groups from other churches, including First UMC Kerrville with whom we attended Revive Summer Camp in July 2018.

We will leave Lakewood after church on Sunday June 16 and work on homes Monday-Thursday, go to Six Flags on Friday, and return home Friday evening June 21.

Required forms to be turned in to Student Ministry office:

Cost is $275. Money is never a reason not to go, as we have scholarships and payment plans available! Email amy.parker@lakewoodumc.org to inquire.
