Love to cook? We will gather in the kitchen on Saturday, September 15 at 10:00 am to prepare casseroles for use in various ministries as needed. Spread some sunshine with members of our flower ministry by delivering flowers to homebound members of our congregation on Sunday, September 16. Neighbors in Action, Party in the Park - RAIN OR SHINE / WEAR OLD CLOTHES, MAY BE MUDDY

Sunday, September 16, 2:00pm meet in the parking lot at LUMC

In the Port Houston area we will host a party in the neighborhood for children. We will leave Lakewood UMC at 2:00pm, and the party is 3-5 pm. Rise Against Hunger

Sunday, September 16, at Noon in Asbury Hall

You can help by participating in this project to prepare 10,000 individual meals to be distributed to those in need in third world nations. This project will take place in Asbury Hall directly after the New Song service at Noon on Sunday, September 16, and is open to all ages (children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent).

Sponsored by our Table Groups ministry, participants will take bulk quantities of food and bag them into individual servings. While the main project is expected to take about two hours, we also need a few strong folks before the event to help transfer the bulk food from the loading dock to the work tables.

Student Ministries

Our 6th though 12th graders will be participating in several service projects during the Weekend of Service, with more details to come! Students will be able to help

deliver flowers to our homebound, or work on local yards on Sunday, September 16. Contact chad.mcelveen@lakewoodumc.org for information.

Troop Goody Boxes

Sunday, September 16, between services in the Commons

Prayers & Squares Quilt Ministry will be preparing troop goody boxes as a part of Weekend of Service. Select items to donate by choosing 1 or more stars from the

large flag in the Commons with specific "goodies" listed. Drop-off boxes are located throughout the church; donations are due by September 9.

Have family or friends in the military? Email ruby.samuelson@sbcglobal.net with their name and address. Also, please join us on September 16 in the Commons as we stuff boxes for our troops.

Write A Note of Hope

At Noon on Sunday, September 16, you can join our Call of Hope team in Founders Court to write letters of support for victims of human trafficking.
